Prejudices

Why do so many feel the need to put other people into boxes?

Why must there be so many prejudices. Does it matter, that her on 55 years enjoys riding her horse in a cordeo and her on 16 rides her horse with a bit in its mouth?

I do not understand why some people have a great need to talk down to other riders. But it's probably just the horse-world in a nut shell!

I just participated in an post on a Swedish horse forum. Where the bitless/bridles riders once again was talked down to. There were many prejudices. Such as; Bitless/bridles riders only had ugly and obese horses. That they could not ride their horses properly etc. It must be hard to spend so much energy to have so many prejudices :-)

BOUGHT!

Today I bought a baroque inspired pad. It wasn't exactly cheap, I got it specially designed for Giga. I can't wait to see it on her. Now I just have to get an academic saddle. But it may take a long time. They are quite expensive!

Baroque Style

I have fallen completely for the Baroque style. I think it is so beautiful and it reminds me of old days when riding was a profound art. It was man and horse melted together as one soul, like a centaur. From cave men's first encounter with the horse to the Baroque period was the horse dealt with big respect, as the classicism emerged the respect and understanding fell for the horses. Imagine if we had maintained that respect, what a beautiful horse world we would have today.

What do you think about?

What do you think about ... Teaching your horse to rear? Or teach them to make a levade?

I know many are against it and I am also against it when young girls on 12-16 years teach their horses to do it. Because if you do not have 100% control over your techniques it can go really wrong. However, I think it's a beautiful and impressive trick if you master it accurate. I myself am about to learn Giga a correct levade. However, I also teach her to rear like an "wild-horse". I want to use her in the future for shows, etc. And then it's fine if she can do both :-)

A levade.

Rearing.

Appleby Horse Fair

This video reminds me of the time I was in Ireland. However, the video is from England. It is so beautiful and I love the horses in this video - Irish Cobs and two Shire horses. I would not mind at all to live such a beautiful place!

Pictures from Ireland:

And some in color.

This stallion I would have liked to take with me home.

This guy was very similar to my Sir Victor.

Flower Farm

I am really looking forward to move Giga to Denmark. I've found the perfect place. She's going be moved to stable called Flower Farm. It is a really nice little private stable. There is a small indoor arena and there's a forest right up to the farm. The man who owns the place is called Gregg Flower. When we came out to the place, he was just so welcoming and nice. I/we (my boyfriend) felt really welcome. The most cool thing is that they all accept each other, there are all from Bitless, western, dressage, show jumping riders and they all get along.
I wrote an email to him yesterday that I unfortunately had a lot of problems with Gigas passport, and I just got the most sweet and sympathetic mail back; he wrote it was totally okay and that the whole farm was looking forward to meet us, etc.

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a good New Year's Eve!
I had a really good evening despite I was sick.

My dog, Chanel.

However, I received a really irritating mail today. Or I think it's really annoying!
It was from the Swedish horse breeding federation regarding Gigas submitted papers.
EVERYTHING that my veterinarian has made for Giga's passport is wrong.
Nr. 1 She is drawn incorrectly.
Nr. 2 The papers are outdated.
Nr. 3. Her chip number is registered incorrectly, etc.
There were like 10 more issues!

This begins to get really expensive for me. Especially when my old vet do not know sh*t about making a right passport for horses!
