DAMN Horse!

Sometimes I wish I had my own private fotograft because DAMN Giga was looking AMAZING today! What a trot she showed me. I can just say; she didn't look like a heavy draft horse, that's for sure. She was elegant and floating over the sand.
She was pretty wild and restless at the brushing area, so I chose not to ride her. I trained her from the ground without treats and I have never had such a positive training session. She reared at the smallest commands, jumped over jumps etc etc. Everything went great. That horse amazes me almost always positively.

Some pictures from the field:

That's a gypsies mind

I'm a gypsy at heart. I'm proud and brave. I'm calm and friendly. Big and strong. I'll do my best to take care of my owner, that's a Gypsy Vanner's mind.

April Fool

This morning I received this message from Gregg: Hello all horse girls. Remember to read the new signs in the woods concerning horses and horse cards. You have to clip each time you are over at the voucher machine at the big rock on the other side of the road. Cards can be purchased in stores or on the nature Agency website. Gregg.

I fell for it! I hurried up to the farm and asked a friend, "What's happening, why do we have to pay to ride in the woods, as if it isn't expensive enough to own a horse." My friend replies: "Sara, do you know what date it is today"? .... Oh god, it's that the first 1 april today. Well done! It's a long since I felt so stupi :-D

Today Giga was in a slightly silly mood. She was calm and did what I asked her, yet she bucked when we galloped. It wasn't wild at all, she just did it 3-4 times and that was it.

After her half-hearted rodeo show, we went for a walk with a friend in the woods. She was just so calm and sweet for a change.

Beautiful horse! I could hardly go from her today. She just stood there and looked at me.

So true :-D!!

Finally my laptop works

Finally, my laptop works. So now I can write on my blog again!
There hasn't happend much since last time I wrote. The worm test showed that Giga had worms and sand in her stomach. So she got something preventative against sand colic, it's called Psyllium husk. She hates the taste of it and in "protest" she kicks to her feed bucket.

She also really dislikes the dewormed cream, fortunately I got some help of Gregg. I've never seen her so wild before. Odd that she freaked out so much.

I have trained a lot of ground work with her. She is somewhat rough at the moment. And I don't have the strength to ride her especially not when she's in this mood at the moment. I'm sick again...

GOOD NEWS

The girl who just has moved her Irish Cob to the farm is going to move her horse again soon. I've gone and wondered about it. So today when I was out on the farm, she was there too. We rode both on the outdoor arena. We fell suddenly into a conversation. Where she talked more about why she had to move her horse. She had gotten her own horses place where she could rent some fields in someting called, Herlev, a town located 15 minutes from me. The only thing she lacked was some horses that could go with her horse. And then I thought VICTOR! It will only cost 500 kr, and it is nothing, especially if I find a nice girl who'll pay to ride Victor a few days of the week. I hope I can do it. If it is profitable, then I'll move him already about 1.5 months. My good god I'm so happy now! I miss my big boy so much! :-)

Follow-up

Here's a little follow-up to the last few days. As I said, my laptop has gone completely black. It is virtually dead.

Well, I think I'll start with Saturday. Saturday was super foggy day but there was still a strange bright light, so I got a little headache of the really bright light. I think it has something to do with that I can see aura, which makes it difficult for me seeing when there's a sharp white light. But it didn't stop me from riding Giga. I put a trail course up and another girl joined us. Giga behaved exemplary. When we were finished with the training Giga didn't want to go, she was just standing still on the outdoor arena. Which is quite atypical, so I interpret it as she had fun :-D

On my way home.

Sunday was the great "dung day". As in; all of us should gather dung samples of the horses, they were checked for worms. It was great weather, I think it was around 18-19 degrees. I rode into the forest with two good friends. We just had a really fun trip. We joked a lot with that Giga was more Arabian than their two real Arabian horses. Giga was very temperamental and the other two behaved like two old cold blooded horses.
We rode into the forest because Giga rarely shits when I ride her, so we were hoping for a walk in the woods would "start" her stomach. The most ridiculous thing was that just when we reached the forest Giga started sheathing, so typical, then began the other horses too. So we had to take our bags, fill them with crap and then hide them in the woods. We didn't want to ride back because the weather was so nice. In the end we rode for about two hours. It was just a really lovely day.

Monday and Tuesday I spent much time on brushing Giga and cuddling her. She needed it. Just getting a lot of attention without having to perform. She became very well groomed. Then I let her get some of the first fresh grass this year. And all the other horses got so jealous, they stood on the other side of the fence and drooled. Poor horses :-)

Poor horses xD
