That's why!

That's why I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for a hunt (small cross country event).

Significant progress!

It goes really well with the horses. There is significant progress in both Victor and Giga's shape and behavior. As I said earlier, I have had much time to them in my holiday. I've trained some western with Victor since we might be involved in some events in the near future.

What Giga regards I've started to jump quite high with her and often only in a Cordeo (rope around the neck). A friend and I are considering participating in a baby hunt on March 24. I just don't quite yet know if I'm ready.

I would like to share a few wise words

I would like to share a few wise words. Something I have thought about and something many probably could use to reflect on.

Many people have too many emotions involved when they train their horses. It's one of the biggest problems in equine training. It’s not uncommon that you can quickly become angry and frustrated if the horse doesn't do what we want them to do. We associate it with the horse is either naughty or disrespectful. And it is unfortunately not the case. A horse does not react on emotions but on instinct. They do not have the brain capacity to think "I'll fucking show my stupid owner" or something similar. We tend to humanize our animals because it’s easier to deal with, if we can blame it on our animals instead of ourselves. So think twice when you train your animal. Try to lie the emotions on the shelf. I'm not saying we should be insensible machines but we must leave our anger, frustration, sadness, irritation, etc behind us.

Think to you self, it’s animals, they just react based on their instincts. Horses are flight animals and if you send the wrong signal, they can be scared. All they want is just to escape, not to be evil or stupid.

This picture was taken about 5 years ago. When I rode Giga with a curb bit and a saddle that didn't fit her. At that time I was sure she was really naughty and rude but I've learned from my past and now I ride her bitless without any problems.

Bullfighting horse?

In my winter break I've had a lot of time to my lovely horses. So I've spent much time to challenge them in new and creative ways. This monday Victor stood  face to face with a dangerous aggressive bull. (Made of wood).

To my big surprise, he wasn't afraid at all of the bull, however, his friend Merlin was very frightened.
One of Victor's best sides is that he's very curious. He rarely gets frightened because he so often just wants to explore things.

It almost looked like Victor protected me and Merlin from the nasty bull :-D

Don't worry mom, I got this!

Are we done yet, this is soo boring!

Gigas future husband

I have found Gigas future husband. I'm totally in love!

A calming trip

After the farrier had gone home. I chose to ride out in the woods with Giga. I needed a long trip where I could just be myself and enjoy the peace. It was really quiet in the woods. And among the trees, we met many beautiful deers. I felt  that I was back in Sweden, I needed just to meet some elks and wild boars.

I should ride more often in the morning. There' a special peace that's really nice and calming.
