Fridays like this...

Fridays like this makes me so happy.
Spring is on its way and the sun warms delightfully at the moment.

Today my boyfriend actually suggested that we should go for a ride. He is so brave, the last time he rode was last summer. But he has much confidence in my horses and have spent much time in the stable with me. He's just every horse-girl's dream. He has learned much in 1.5 years I have known him, and I actually think his interest is sincere.

We spent many hours today at the horses. First we let them eat grass while we laid there looking up at the blue sky, and after an hour in the fresh air, we muck the boxes and then we took off on a little trip.

Got my boy back!

Last Wednesday I went to Rønnede with my friend and helper Kristina, to go get Victor back home. I've missed Victor terribly much, but I knew Peter would take good care of him.

Victor has become a completely different horse. Not only has Peter virtually cured his muscle injury, he has also helped Victor mentally. He's gotten a tremendous confident and he berries himself as a stallion. He has a confidence that makes him no longer a little unsure sissy, but now he berries me with pride and strength that comes from deep inside.

I'm just so impressed and grateful for the help I've gotten! Peter is a very unique trainer and weighs his training much in that it should be fun and enjoyable for the horse. He is a trainer that gives the horses time and peace to develop. And then he just has a very special ability to understand Irish Cobs. Irish Cobs/Gypsy Vanners is a very special breed and often a breed that's difficult to train, especially those that comes wild from Ireland. But once you know how to handle them you get without a doubt the best horses.

I handed over a rather broken horse, which tended to be very lazy and unwilling, and has been given a fresh, happy and very willing to work horse home. I am so happy to see this development and I will do everything to carry it on.

I simply love my farrier

Today the farrier came. I simply love my farrier, he's incredibly patient and kind to the horses, even when they begin to make trouble. Plus he always makes sure to use much time, there is never any stress.

Giga tends to be a little difficult, but today it suited her apparently. She was really nice and relaxed. Her mood is very happy at the time, I really believe the warmer weather and spring gives her renewed energy :-)

Now that's love!

It's true love when you only have to whistle once and your horse comes running like this.
Especially now that the grass is so desirable.
She's just such lovely horse <3

Spring

Spring is over us!

Spring Wonderland

Now that Giga can't be ridden, I spend a lot of quality time with her from the ground. Today I sat for two hours in the sun while she was grazing in front of me. It's so fun to see her, the first 5 minutes she runs around confused and have no idea where she should start eating, it's almost as if she thinks it is too good to be true. After an hour she finds time to come and say hello to me a few times, and after two hours, I just call her name once and then she comes willingly over to me.

She is simply so beautiful to look at, it's something I never get tired of. It's almost like therapy.

The grass is always greener by my side

There's one thing that I have been wondering about for many years. I don't really know if it's only my horses who does it, or whether it is a common thing.

The other day I let Giga get her first bite from the new spring grass, she was just so happy and got a bit silly. When I finally sat down in the grass to enjoy the sight of my happy horse, I managed hardly to sit down before she stood in front of me.

First she just checked me out and then she begang eating the grass right by my feet and around my body. She has an entire lawn but comes rushing up to me to eat only the grass I sit on. One thing is certain, if I sit on the largest field with high lush grass or if I sit on a small lawn, they ALWAYS come over.

My thought is either they enjoy my company and find it a little cozy, or then it's a mixture of curiosity and maybe a little hysteria, the grass I sit on is possibly the best on the entire field. As I said, I don't know if other horses have the same tendency, but mine have always done it. I think it's a funny habit, I love it when they get up close and grasses by my side.
