Finally my laptop works

Finally, my laptop works. So now I can write on my blog again!
There hasn't happend much since last time I wrote. The worm test showed that Giga had worms and sand in her stomach. So she got something preventative against sand colic, it's called Psyllium husk. She hates the taste of it and in "protest" she kicks to her feed bucket.

She also really dislikes the dewormed cream, fortunately I got some help of Gregg. I've never seen her so wild before. Odd that she freaked out so much.

I have trained a lot of ground work with her. She is somewhat rough at the moment. And I don't have the strength to ride her especially not when she's in this mood at the moment. I'm sick again...

GOOD NEWS

The girl who just has moved her Irish Cob to the farm is going to move her horse again soon. I've gone and wondered about it. So today when I was out on the farm, she was there too. We rode both on the outdoor arena. We fell suddenly into a conversation. Where she talked more about why she had to move her horse. She had gotten her own horses place where she could rent some fields in someting called, Herlev, a town located 15 minutes from me. The only thing she lacked was some horses that could go with her horse. And then I thought VICTOR! It will only cost 500 kr, and it is nothing, especially if I find a nice girl who'll pay to ride Victor a few days of the week. I hope I can do it. If it is profitable, then I'll move him already about 1.5 months. My good god I'm so happy now! I miss my big boy so much! :-)

Follow-up

Here's a little follow-up to the last few days. As I said, my laptop has gone completely black. It is virtually dead.

Well, I think I'll start with Saturday. Saturday was super foggy day but there was still a strange bright light, so I got a little headache of the really bright light. I think it has something to do with that I can see aura, which makes it difficult for me seeing when there's a sharp white light. But it didn't stop me from riding Giga. I put a trail course up and another girl joined us. Giga behaved exemplary. When we were finished with the training Giga didn't want to go, she was just standing still on the outdoor arena. Which is quite atypical, so I interpret it as she had fun :-D

On my way home.

Sunday was the great "dung day". As in; all of us should gather dung samples of the horses, they were checked for worms. It was great weather, I think it was around 18-19 degrees. I rode into the forest with two good friends. We just had a really fun trip. We joked a lot with that Giga was more Arabian than their two real Arabian horses. Giga was very temperamental and the other two behaved like two old cold blooded horses.
We rode into the forest because Giga rarely shits when I ride her, so we were hoping for a walk in the woods would "start" her stomach. The most ridiculous thing was that just when we reached the forest Giga started sheathing, so typical, then began the other horses too. So we had to take our bags, fill them with crap and then hide them in the woods. We didn't want to ride back because the weather was so nice. In the end we rode for about two hours. It was just a really lovely day.

Monday and Tuesday I spent much time on brushing Giga and cuddling her. She needed it. Just getting a lot of attention without having to perform. She became very well groomed. Then I let her get some of the first fresh grass this year. And all the other horses got so jealous, they stood on the other side of the fence and drooled. Poor horses :-)

Poor horses xD

Broken laptop!!

My laptop is broken. So I first get an opportunity to blog tomorrow. I have to borrow my boyfriend's computer. I apologize. However, I have much to tell about.

Did you know?

Did you know, that garlic can help against mosquito bites in the summer? Mix a little garlic into the food, then when the horse sweats it smells different (garlic odor) which dose that the mosquitoes and many other fly species will not take a bite of your horse. They don't like the smell or taste of garlic.

Another good day with Giga

Another good day with Giga. I made another western trail course. And as always Giga enjoyed it. She thinks it's really funny at the moment. Which only pleases me. I only rod her for 30 minutes today. I'm trying not to push her too much. I could see she took a little distance from me in the paddock, which is often a hint to I train her a little too hard. So now it's just about making it really fun and not too hard for her.

I don't want to push her too hard, it can destroy a lot, especially her relationship to me. She's a horse who loves to work but she can't stop. She can easily be ridden for a long time without the rider feeling that she's tired but it often takes hard mentally on her. She's a horse who thinks a lot during training and that's a super good thing but I just have to remember to balance my training with care. Good I have such an honest horse. I can quickly read if she's "over worked".

I have a amazing horse

I have a amazing horse :-D
I had a slightly off day at work but Giga can always turn my sad days into something good. She was very calm and sweet today. I sat up on her and rode her in the halter up to the yard, it has become one of our small rituals. I think it's really nice and Giga learns to stand very still, for I have a really hard time jumping up on her without a saddle.

We rode peacefully up to the neighbor's farm and back again. The weather was excellent and we enjoyed the warm sun. It's been a really fantastic day!

Playful horses

Spring Playful horses that are just about to run me down :-D Sorry, the sound is not so optimal ...

Angel horse

Yesterday Giga was a really bandit, today she was the sweetest angel. There is not one similar day with that crazy horse. I did a little "western trail" obstacle course. Giga was SO sweet and wellbehaved, you wouldn't believe it was the same horse after her hot-tempered behavior yesterday. She did all the obstacles amazingly, you'd think she did nothing else then this all day long. Honestly I think she thought it was really fun. Her ears was forward throughout the whole hour we rode :-D

That horse (and my two boys) can just make my days so much better!

21 Mar 2012

Impossible horse

Hmm, Giga was quite impossible today. She was really strong and hard to stop. It's strange that her "mood" changes so much from day to day. The idea was that I would film me riding her today. But I had to give up because I couldn't ride her decently. I got her to relax but it was no' pretty sight, it took a long time and when she finally relaxed she was sweating like a fat pig. People must think ride her very hard. Her fiery temperament makes her "stress up" sometimes and thereby she's sweating a lot more than usual.

At least it ended well. In the end she was calm and relaxed. Plus she layed down for the first time in front of me. So some progress has been made here and there. Too bad there are so many outcomes in the middle of everything good.

Zonkey & Zorse!

Have you ever heard of these species? I've heard of Zorse, but not the other one. I know a Zorse have a horse as it's mother and a Zebra as it's father. The second may well be a donkey as the father and the horse is the mother. But I'm not sure. But no matter what they are still really cute!
It's a pity that they are often very aggressive. Zebra's has a very strong instinct and that makes them often very difficult to train. The Zebra is the animal that harms most zookeepers at year. Who would have thought that?

Cute picture

I couldn't help smiling when I saw this picture :-)
It's pretty cute!

Baroque paintings

I am so fascinated by the baroque style. I love the paintings of the horses. The paintings reflect how the horses were trained. It's so impressive, at that time you could talk about Horsemanship and a right understanding for horses. At that time the horse was your dearest possession and therefore they were treated with care.

Diva Giga

Hmm, today Giga was a really Diva. I rode with a friend on her Arab. Usually Giga walkes nicely in their company. But today she was totally impossible. There existed no stop signal in her head today. She didn't agree with we only should walk. So I jumped of her. I don't think it was worth it to fight with her. I became increasingly irritated over her behavior and as I always say; don't let sour feelings come between you and your animals. It just destroys the trust between you and your animals and you get nothing out of it.

So I got a good long walk. But in return, she walked nicely beside me all the way. Typical!

Honza Bláha - open borders

This is just a really impressive and beautiful video.
Honza Blaha is extremely good at training horses. He is best known for the things he can with his horse Gaston.

Successful day!

Giga and I rode a long trip today in the forest. She has become very responsive during the biteless traning. She dosn't run of with me anymore. I can control her both in a calm and "wild" canter/gallop. She tries to occasionally set the pace but it dosn't take much time or afford to stop her again. It was actually worse at the time I rode with a bit. It was a really successful day!

Some pictures from today.

Missing stallion from germany

Missing stallion from germany - please help to find him!

*On 04/06/2011 has our stallion, Stuart Malone of the pasture, disappeared and left his mare alone. He's Palomino spotted, 10 years old and 1.48 m tall. Anyone who sees him somewhere please report 0171/36 120. We really miss him and we are very concerned!*

This is so terrible. I hope someone finds him soon. How can people be so cold and indifferent to others. What a cruel world we live in. My thoughts are with the family and the stallion!

Indifference video

A complete indifference video. But it shows just how well Giga has adapted to the Flower Farm. She is calm and follows me. She is a flower that slowly blooms. I think it's sweet when she comes in front of me and then stops and waits for me. It is quite atypical for Giga :-D

What an Angel

Giga behaved very nicely today. The farrier was ecstatic with her, the other horses were quite jealous. He thought she was a magnificent example of the old Shire type. They should apparently look like Giga. It's just great to get praise.

I spent a lot of time on Giga today. We just enjoyed each others company. She was an angel when I rode her. Despite her poor shape she's still incredibly obedient and willing to work! She's a really sweetheart. Everyone at the farm loves her. She's a real favorite.

15 Mar 2012

The Farrier

Tomorrow comes the farrier to the Flower Farm. It will be interesting to hear how Giga takes it. She can be a real bitchy lady, if she doesn't like him. She's often doing her legs very heavy. And sometimes she bites them in the bum. Crazy Horse. I wish I could be there and see it all tomorrow. But unfortunately work calls.
I really hope she is in her good mood tomorrow. I would rather not have future problems. She just has sometimes a swinging temper, a typical mare.

Love it!

Hahaha this is soooo true!! That could be Baltazar.

14 Mar 2012

And it continues?

Hmm, it continues. Is this the new fashion? What a obnoxious fashion sense! There's just no limit to what people comes up with. I know that there are the fur fashion etc, and it's terrible too (especially when the animals are not treated properly). But this is going well over my boundaries, how can you walk in these shoes, without feeling it's wrong?

Stress

I've had some rather long and stressful days at work, so I have not much to update regarding me and Giga, and the other horses. I am planning a trip to Sweden, I miss my two boys quite a lot! Hmm well, I don't really have so much more to write about. Giga is doing well and I expect to ride her tomorrow. I finally got rid of my illness - or almost!

Lovely picture

What a lovely picture! I want to live in that "house". It's so beautiful.

12 Mar 2012

Things looks bright

Is there anyone who has ridden my horse in the 2 weeks I've been sick? xD
I would almost believe that, after how Giga performed today. She was just fantastic. She was extremely calm and very responsive. She did everything I asked her, she stopped admittedly when I asked for it. She was just a dream to ride. She did even the short canter really good. Things looks bright right now. If she after 2 weeks without being ridden can do this, then I really look forward to work more with her! *What a lovely horse*!

Hmm, I thought a lot of Victor and Baltazar today. I have a really bad conscience, about that they just stand in Sweden and that they are not really doing anything. I wish I could just move them to Denmark. I miss them terribly much! Why must everything be so complicated always!

Hormonal disturbed horse!

I have a hormonal disturbed horse! Many have seen her jump on Bertha (the Fell pony). Oddly enough it seems like Bertha think it's nice. It must be spring that makes Giga completely crazy! What a wacky horse!

11 Mar 2012

Nice weekend

I've had a really nice weekend. The Fell Pony (Bertha), which I fed this weekend is just so lovely. She is so calm and happy. She was quite surprised when I had food for her both Saturday and Sunday.

Today Giga got a decent massage. I didn't have the strength to ride her. So I chose to spend an hour just to brush her and cuddle her. She enjoyed it very much! Then we went down to the outdoor arena and watched the others rode and trained their horses. It was really nice and chill. I spent 4 hours out on the farm without really doing anything. I talked a lot with the new girl with the Irish Cob gelding. She is really nice. There's just always a great atmosphere at the Flower Farm. It's unbelievable that so many girls can get along, I'm not used to it!

Smart tips!

I just read on a Facebook group, that a teacher had a pupil with big problems regarding hard hands.

She had swapped out the reins with a rubber band chambon - then it's quite difficult to have hard hands. The rubber band should teach the pupil about the lack of elastic which the student had in his hand, and to ride more with the seat. I think it's pretty smart, if it's just in the beginning.

Bitless Competition at 2012 Helsinki Horse Fair Huge Success!

Here's a small update on how it went to the bitless competition in Helsinki.

The Tunne Hevonen(horse on finnish) Dressage Challenge with bitless dressage competition exhibition held on Saturday 3 March 2012 at the second ever Helsinki Horse Fair in Finland was a huge success. The fair was attended by around 42,000 visitors and the exhibition was Saturday's main attracttion.  The idea was to show that good riding is not based on equipment, but on good horse riding skills and good horsemanship.

Another day of sickness

As I said the previous days, I have been very sick, so there's not much concerning horse training. But I am every day out and say hello to Giga and today was no exception. I saw that there has come a really sweet new Irish Cob gelding to the farm. It is quite small compared to Giga but it looks pretty cute. It's fun to see how many variations there are of the Irish Cob breed, they come in all sizes and colors.

Tomorrow I'm going to feed another horse on the farm, the sweet Fell mare, the owner needed some help. Additionally, I hope I'm fresh enough to train Giga. I miss training her seriously. And I'm REALLY tired of being sick all the time. I don't get far with being sick all the time!

This blog starts to become more and more depressing, can you feel it? xD

Just Horses, just music, just fun. Enjoy!

Look at this lovely video. And enjoy!!

I'M IN LOVE!

I'M IN LOVE!
This Shire stallion is just my dream horse. He's so handsome I can't even describe how great I think he is! He's welcome to come and meet Giga! ;-)

Morbid shoes!

Is it just me who thinks these shoes are morbid? There are many who thinks they are super cool but I can not help thinking poor pony/horse. Ugh, I don't like them at all!
