Finally a day without rain!

I think Denmark will soon drown. Throughout June, it has almost rained every day. What a summer, huh? Oh, but today it was thankfully beautiful weather and probably about 20 degrees. It was quite fortunate as me and three friends had agreed we would ride out together today. We rode down to a beautiful lake that lies pretty far from Flower Farm, ca. 1 hour. We rode from the farm at 09.30 and we were home again at 13.15. So it was a long trip. Giga did pretty good but on the way home, she got something of an mentalte breakdown. Very annoying. I'm a little tired of her. But I'll just have to train more in the woods. But otherwise we had a fun day at the lake. Giga was the first who was really out swimming, although it took some time to get her into the water. Crazy Horse!

Fire in Colorado

Put all of your energy and prayers for the folks in Colorado, please!

"HorseCouponBook.com is headquartered in Colorado and though we are a safe distance from the fires, our hearts sink every time we look to the South and see the smoke and flames engulfing this beautiful state. This photo shows just what horse owners are forced to do when such tragedy hits home, this is outside of Roundup, Montana. Our hearts are with those whose family and horses are close to the devastation no matter what state you're in. -HCB Team"

Eternity project

My horse exploits the bad weather. She has started to drink water from puddles, although she has fresh water out on the field, it tastes obviously better :-)

And red suits her pretty good. I'd just like to buy some little things for my horses and then suddenly this halter just fell down into my shopping cart. Ups!

Right now I'm doing something that feels like an "eternity project". I am looking for the perfect saddle for Giga, now that the one I wanted was taken from me. The saddler is trying to find something to me but no matter what I try, there is never something that is as good as the saddle I originally wanted. Sigh! I think we've tried 10 different saddles now.

Gypsy Horse Colors

My Sir Victor is Smokey Black and Lady Giga is Splash.

Look at this stallion

Look at this stallion. I am absolutely in love with him! USA and Ireland have so many beautiful stallions. They breed some beautiful types. Unfortunately, Denmark and Sweden judge completely wrong. The breed is getting smaller, they getting less hair character and their temperament becomes more fiery. That 's so wrong and it's not at all what the breed is about. Gypsies bred them in fact to be good natured and calm animals so they could associate with many people in all ages. They where going to live their lives out on the road. A temperamental horse wouldn't fit for such a life. And their massive hair should protect them from various diseases and protect them against minor injuries and wounds. So I don't get the judges in DK and Sweden.

Bye bye perfect academic saddle!

Farewell perfect Academic saddle!
I had just found "the one". And just about the same day I was going to pay for it, the owner suddenly didn't want to sell it. Like WTF? What an Idiot! Why in the world, would you put your saddle for sale at a well known saddler and then at the last minute chose to say that the saddle isn't for sale anyways? I don't get it and I must honestly say I am very disappointed. I'll never find a better saddle. Sigh...

Follow up

Follow up on the course. It was okay but a little too spiritual for my taste. It was about finding your inner mental problems by linking your mind "power" with a horse. This horse would then be able to feel your problems. We should try to breathe through the horse without getting close to it. I felt that people over analyzed what the horses did in the field. It was a little too much about: "Uh, the horse came up to me and smelled just THAT hand I have some problems with", etc. It's very difficult to be a "horse expert" and believe in the scientific aspect and then you suddenly empathize with the horse and feel you are one with it and that everything the horse does have a higher meaning. It was a little too much "Flower Power" for me, although I can see aura and believe in different things after death, but this was too much. We sat in the middle of a field and meditated. It was okay, but nothing I would go and use more time on. Respect for those who gets something out of it. And I love the two people who presented it, so no bad feelings :-)

Go in the horse's footsteps - June 2012

Tomorrow I'm going to a course / lecture with Equine Mind Movers. It's really exciting and I look forward to it. I'm getting some lovely company of my friend Laura. She has unfortunately just lost her wonderful horse. It died very suddenly from colic. So I am very glad that she still wants to go to the course with me! It's nice to have some company when the drive is quite long. An hour and fifteen minutes.

Biomechanics and learning

Here is a very educational video. You should give yourself time to see it. Dr. Andrew McLean is extremely talented!

Lovely Picture

I am absolutely in love with this picture.
As Beautiful as it gets!

Pictures of my new saddle

Here are some pictures of my new saddle. Or I'm going to pay for it tomorrow.

Today I went for a small walk with Giga. I was at my chiropractor today so my back and lower back was pretty sore! Tomorrow I'm going out for a ride in my new paid saddle. Anina is going to join me,- maybe!

Good News!

I have some really good news. Victor is moving to Denmark soon! He is moving once in August. I feel a little weird that he no longer shall be in Sweden at my parents' farm. I must admit I will miss the Swedish nature and wildlife! And now I've had my horse there for 5 years. So it's a bit strange and sad in a way? But the best thing for Victor is that he's coming to DK and get's trained etc. Everything else is a shame. So now the decision is made and everybody at the Flower Farm can't wait to meet him!

I also think that Giga is going to be happy to see him again. I'm looking forward to see their reakion!

I'm so sorry for my inactivity

Hello Blog Readers.

I'm so sorry for my inactivity. But I just moved to a new apartment and the internet hadn't worked all week. There has happened a bit since I last wrote on my blog. Giga's "rider" (Milla), jumped a little on her. They came up on 65 cm. Not bad (pictures are shown below).
Additionally I had a saddler out to Giga and I've found the perfect academic saddle. It sits perfectly on Giga and I sit like a king in it! Pictures may come tomorrow!

In addition, I rode a long trip in the woods on Giga in my future saddle. I've never felt her gait so much. She is free and light, It doesn't feel like if shes carrying me. We got lost in the woods, so we ended up riding in 2.5 hours. Poor Giga. But it's long time since we both have enjoyed a ride so much as we did yesterday. It was hot but it rained a little. It was great with a little rain in the warm weather.

I will try to keep my blog updated. Hugs Sara Maria

Riding lesson

Today I got a riding lesson on Giga. I got the lesson from a girl called Nanna. She has been in Australia and worked for Andrew McLean for four months. She is really talented and I got extremely much out of her lesson. I can only say I envy her experience! If only I had the chance for such an experience :-)

I hope one day I'm lucky and get the chance. But right now I have to "settle" with talented Nanna. I enjoyed it and I finally feel I have something I can work with. I no longer feel that I am stuck in on the same track.

Yesterday

Yesterday I didn't get as much out of my day as I had desired, unfortunately. I felt a little bad that I hadn't trained some of my boys. But it rained all day. So the urge wasn't quite there. However, I washed Victors legs and brushed him from head to hoof. He enjoyed it very much. And I spent much time outdoors in the paddock and cuddle all three horses :-)

Pictures from today

Here are some pictures from today...

Victor got his vaccination

Today Victor got his vaccination. He was not happy about it! He hates the vet as I said. But we took a towel around his head and then it was just about holding on. He got the needle in the neck and then he jumped up in the air and ran a half-round in his box. But now it's all over and I must honestly say that my vet is one cool woman! What shall I do without her in DK?

Victor got a day off, unfortunately I can't ride him after a vaccination. But I took some pictures with him and cuddled with him. I miss him a lot and it makes me really sad when I see he has missed me as well!

Later I trained Baltazar. He had soooo much energy. He got a flip and galloped around me in 15 minutes. When he finished he came back to me very happy. Crazy pony!

Aw, I'm sorry I can't afford a small farm. The whole situation here makes me really sad :-(

Oh no, the vet is coming tomorrow!

Today I came to Sweden. It's nice to see my boys again. I had a nightmare last night about Victor had lost all his hair. He had fortunately not missed it all! It looks actually a bit better.

I was playing around with him and rode him a little in the cordeo. I can see very well, unfortunately he doesn't get used enough energy. He dose strange things like running away from me and gets scared of everything. I'm pretty nervous to see how it goes with the vet tomorrow. He's going to get his vaccination and he HATES it. I hope it goes well, my vet is incredibly skilled and the first one that can handle him. Who would have thought a small blond woman of 1.67 cm could handle my big monster!

Body fat guide

My horses are "asy keepers" they don't get a lot of food and works every day but they still stay fat. It's a blessing and a curse!

Auch, my mouth!

This is a demonstration of  "classical riding" in Denmark. Halt from walk.

This just shows how easily and how often the equestrian sport is corrupt at all its levels...

Flower Farm's annual summer party

Today Flower Farm held their annual summer party.
We went for a long ride in the forest from early morning. We rode around in three different forests. It was so wonderful and liberating. Giga behaved quite nicely! Better than last time when we rode many together :-D

Then it was lunchtime with a lot of delicious food. After lunch it stood on a lot of fun games on the farm! First it was a competition in western trail (my friend and Gigas "thursday" rider rode that one), stop dance on horse back, relay with apples and gallop races around the entire farm. Giga behaved exemplary. It was a beautiful day in the company of a lot of nice and funny people.

Unfortunately, I fell and knocked a hole in my knee just as I came out on the farm in the morning. So I let my friend ride Giga mostly today.

A special thanks to Mie and Gregg for the fine arragment!
