A nice day

Right now training with Giga is going really well. There's progress every day. Today was the best day so far. She was really calm. When I brushed her, she stood still, when I saddled her up she stood still and when I rode her she was very calm and well balanced. It's really nice to see her like this. Plus now that I have much time for her, I have lots of time to brush her mane and tail every day, so she looks like a real fairy tale horse :-) People on the Flower Farm are absolutely in love with her long tail. Several came to say hey to her when I saddled her up :-D
Unfortunately, I rarely have my camera with me. But I might take some pictures tomorrow.

What a shame

Scary, what people eventually demand of an 3 year old horse ... ahem ... or almost 3 year old horse.
This is a famous Danish dressage rider, I think most people know him. He tells about this new beautiful 3 year old horse that have great potential in the future. I don't now, it's probably destroyed before it reaches the "perfect" age. What a shame, because it is an incredibly beautiful horse.

War Horse

War Horse is truly an amazing film. I must honestly admit that I shed a tear or two. Which the rest of the cinema hall apparently also did. What a gripping movie. I would say that the movie is for everyone, you don't have to be a horse girl to see it. Even my boyfriend shed a tear in secret. He would not admit it to start with. But he was quite moved by the film, although he is not a fan of horses.

Absolutely fantastic

Lady Giga was absolutely fantastic today! I have to trust her more. I rode her with my cavesson. We rode first in the paddock and afterwards I rode out into the forest together with Josefine and her horse Merlin. It's so wonderful when I finally see some good progress. Giga was a completely different horse today. Obedient and calm. + When I stood and brushed her suddenly a giant barn door fell  down over her. It hit her right on the neck and head. The halter took the worst impact and the iron parts burst into pieces. Both me and another woman got a huge shock, but Giga just stood still. That's what I call a cold-blooded horse!
I wonder how the door fell off the wall. It was pretty weird?

So cold!

Today it's quite cold outside. I think it's 10 minus degrees. The soil is rock hard and there is ice everywhere. As soon as I step outside my nose runs like a leaking water tap. I'm not a fan of cold weather, I've said that I will one day live in Italy and it will also happen one day!
With that said, I have so far trained Baltazar. We trained some tricks like lifting things up and give them to me again and Spanish steps. He is just so talented and willing to work. We trained only for 30 min since it was just too cold for me.

If I can pull myself together, I also train Victor today. Ush, the weather holds me back for doing so much. If there only were some more snow so I could buckle a sledge after the horses! That could be fun.

Trust!

One important thing in equine training is that you trust yourself and your horse. The question is do you trust your horse? I rely enough on my horse that I dare to let him run with me on his back without a bit in his mouth. I'll let him be a horse and I'll just follow his pace. I dare stand on him and see a completely different view. I trust my horse because it's the least I can offer him!

"Unserious" day!

Today it was really cold and both I and Victor was a little tired. So the traning today wasn't so serious;  But it's okay to sometimes take it slow and just have some fun. Two of my friends visited me, they took some crazy pictures of our otherwise "not so serious" training's day. It was quite cozy, Victor is so chill! :-D

I'm just so tired Sara!
