Dull weather, BUT!

I've had a great day despite the dull weather. I rode a long trip in the woods with two sweet girls from the Flower Farm. I love being in their company, it's always fun to ride with them. The time goes so fast despite we only walked the whole way on our horses. It went really well with Giga. She's still a little fat and sweats a lot. But it's hard to ride in the winter without a big indoor arena.

There was little drama before we went out to ride. Giga and another pony named Merlin started to fight up by the grooming area. When I came out from the saddle room I saw they kicked after each other. But luckily there was someone out there who yelled at them so they stopped.

And when I came out to the farm today I heard a lot of strange sounds out in the paddock with the "stable horses". I went down to see what was happening. At first I thought, "SHIT", "what is Giga doing in that paddock", but when I looked twice I saw it was a Shire gelding. He's just so beautiful! They are so elegant looking. He's new on the farm, however, he's only staying there a few weeks. Sadly :-/

Remember to smile :-)

Remember to smile :-D

It keeps me an my horses motivated if I keep the mood up.

Today started a little dramatic. When we came out to the farm we saw that Gregg stood and did something in his tool shed. Suddenly we heard him shouting "Arh shit." I asked if he was okay, and I just got this answer "Hell NO". He screamed for help and I took him up to the saddle-room, he had gotten acid in his eye. I got a shock because he took a hard hold on my hand, I had to lead the way. I got a "thank you" and a "I'm sorry" afterwards because he cursed at me. Luckily he got water in time in his eye. Otherwise he could have become blind :-S

After all the drama I got my boyfriend to take some pictures of me and Giga. Unfortunately, I'm still quite ill. I walked her and then we trained some tricks. I hope that I soon get some more energy, so I can get really started with Giga.

So epic!

I laughed so much when I saw this picture. It's so epic and true!

I am not without hope

“The birds and animals, trees and grasses, rocks, water and wind are our allies. They waken our senses, rouse our passions, renew our spirits and fill us with vision, courage, and joy…
I will dream of a time when we value blue skies more than new automobiles, count our wealth in joy rather than possessions, and dwell in peace and balance with the Earth. I am not without hope.”

Horrible!

I don't think you could put any more tack on this poor horse!!!

How excessive - a properly schooled horse doesn't need all that crap, it's so horrible! :-(
Most times none of that is necessary. This is just an ignorant rider who's taking a shortcut -  this is a sad future for the sport!

Wiii my new pad!!!

Weeee my new pad came today. It is so nice, it's just me. I am excited to try it on Giga. I'm sure it will look good on her. Now I just need a saddle, and then everything is perfect.

The ladybug that is sewn on was a little special greeting to me from her who made it. It's pretty funny because I've always been fascinated since childhood by ladybugs.

Gypsy Cobs

How I love the breed Irish Cob / Gypsy Cob. I love all their beautiful color combinations, if I just could get one in each color. I love how this simple hores breed can have so many different looks. It is truly a unique breed. I honestly do not understand those who can not see their grace. Look at some of these beauties:

And this is only a few examples of their colors...
