Nice shoes huh?

...Or not!

What do you think about these shoes?
I'm definitely not a fan of them. It is unnatural and the horse get's numerous leginjuries because of these shoes.

They are often made for horses where the owners want to highlight a gait such as tölt (I don't know the real english word for it) or a very high trot. They often use the shoes to the breed, Tennessee Walker.

Energetic horse!

Giga is a real bastard at the moment. She's extremely energetic and "the stop button" doesn't work so well, especially not in the forest. Today I thought, enough is enough. She was pretty crazy and I was about to fall off her three times. She jumped to the side many times; Large rocks and trees that where cut down was very dangerous. But fortunately, I stayed on her. I rode her in 1.5 hours, the sweat rippled from her but she was still very temperamental when we were finished. I have much to train with her. It won't be easy, one thing is for sure; I'm not riding in my Sidepull in the forest anymore. She responds very badly on my signals. Sometimes I wish that there was a little more cold blooded temper over Giga ... I am pretty sure that Giga thinks she's a warmblooded stallion :-P
I love that crazy mare!

Picture time :-)

My friend Fleur visited me this weekend. She was so sweet to take some pictures of me and Giga in the woods. Unfortunately, Giga was pretty damn wild that day. But we still got some good pictures out of it.

Busy times

I haven't written on my blog for a long time.
I'm very busy with work and many other things. So there won't always be a post every day. But I will do my best.

Much has happened since the 1.5 weeks I last wrote. I've been in Sweden and said hi to my boys. They are doing really good. Despite they are not doing much. The youngster, Molle, keeps them going :-)

In addition, it goes well with Giga. It's going up and down regarding her temperament. BUT there is great progress, especially when I ride her alone without the "herd effect". So I've basically only positvie things to share.

Here's some pictures from my trip to Sweden. I hope I soon can afford to get them to Denmark.

Short update

I'll only write a short update today. I'm a little busy and are on way to bed.

Today I trained both Giga and a Icelandic horse. My friend owns the mare, she's going to Sweden in her Easter holiday. So i'm helping her a bit. She usually has some problems with her horse stops a lot. So we trained a little on her forward and stop signal. Both horses were really nice today. Tomorrow I'm going to train them both again.

DAMN Horse!

Sometimes I wish I had my own private fotograft because DAMN Giga was looking AMAZING today! What a trot she showed me. I can just say; she didn't look like a heavy draft horse, that's for sure. She was elegant and floating over the sand.
She was pretty wild and restless at the brushing area, so I chose not to ride her. I trained her from the ground without treats and I have never had such a positive training session. She reared at the smallest commands, jumped over jumps etc etc. Everything went great. That horse amazes me almost always positively.
