"The Big Horse Day"

In Denmark we have here on Zealand each year (in August), something we call "The Big Horse Day". It's a big horse event where horses are judged, there are shows, competitions and more. In addition, there are lots of small stalls selling horse equipment, food, fur/skin care, etc. This year I was there with my school and I was helping with getting some of the school horses ready. Two of the school horses were rated best in their breed and got on with the day's horse. Of course a Friesian won!

It was hard to get up at 4 am to take care of horses and first get the day off at  6 pm. But it was all worth it. I met a lot of lovely people and horses.

I think the result of my pictures tell all about the horses I love the most, or what do you think ;-)

Today's inspiration

What a balance. I find a lot of inspiration from many different riders. This girl is just so cool. I wish I could do that on Giga or Victor! Unfortunately I don't have the best balance, but I might learn it one day, who knows ;-)

Here's two videos of her and the horse:

Accepting each other?

Why is it so difficult in the equine world to accept each other? I think it's one of those sports with most hatred and jealousy involved, or it's at least my experience. Why is it so hard to accept we not all are alike? It's so broad a sport with many niche so you can't expect everyone to agree but you should still have a mutual respect for each other. Or am I wrong?

It may well be I am very much in favor of bitless riding but I still accept all those who ride their horses with a bit in their mouth. As long as the horse is treated and ridden properly, it shouldn't be a problem.

Think how much we actually could achieve without all that hatred? I think it stops many on their way up. I often sit and think to myself  if this industry is for me. I hate so much the drama and jealousy but it will probably never change. But think twice before you talk bad about other riders, or something similar. Remember to look inwards nobody is perfect and we should all respect each other :-)

2x Dream Farms

I have just found two dream farms! If I only were rich.
If I had my own place I would start up a horse retraining center with horses with behavioral issues. And perhaps take some abused horses and retrain them.
On my farm I would highly weight a good atmosphere and tone. Many farms have unfortunately an too snobby atmosphere. Unfortunately, the horse world is very much influenced by that atmosphere and it's often because of the social status. Everyone should feel welcome on my farm whether you'll come with a Shelands pony or a Thoroughbred to several millions. I am don't care everybody should be treated equally!

It's good to have dreams

When I'm sitting here in my small apartment living very close to many people, I become more and more sure of that one day I will own a farm. Who knows, maybe I can afford it one day. It's a big dream of min to have my own farm with my horses stabled at home. I sometimes miss just how it was in Sweden. But you can not have it all. When the horses were in Sweden, I had to sacrifice not to see them often but I had everything to myself. Now I see them every day but I don't have my own barn or riding arena. So I often float into my dream world. But it's good to have dreams that can motivate!

The first two pictures are actually of a known Drumhorse breeder here in Denmark. I love her home, it's so beautiful and romantic.

Pictures I just found

I just found some lovely pictures of the horses. I think they are 2 years old. It's fun to see the picture of Giga. It reminds me of that she has a habit of snoring very loudly. Charming little girl.
