I completely forgot

I completely forgot to tell you something very "important" yesterday...
Yesterday I sat for the first time in 2.5 months on a school horse again. I did a full teaching hour without too much pain in my knee! I rode like the others in my class and my teacher was just as hard as he always is. So it was nice to not get treated differently than the others. I just want to be a part of it all again. It went so well. I rode all gaits on this beautiful mare. She is probably 1.75 but gentle as a lamb. I'm just so happy. But I'm so sore today. So I have many muscles that needs to get retrained!

Horse Life 2012

It has been a long but exciting day. Horse Life was okay, I'm a little disappointed with the whole event. I thought it would be bigger. The indoor arena was very small and those who rode didn't impress me. However, I talked to a lot of people and saw a lot riding equipment. And I became slightly updated in all the different things. I became wiser about prices of Spanish horses and new bedding materials for horses.

However, I bought some salt stones for a crazy cheap price. I bought three salt stones for only 100 Dkr! Usually one cost about 150-200 Dkr. And I bought a nice product to polish boots and leather :-)

Horse Lesson #023

Horse fair tomorrow!

Tomorrow I'm  gonna' "work" a little for my school. There is a great horse fair tomorrow. It's called "Horse Life", and all the known coaches, trainers, riders, food experts etc. are coming and keeping some lectures. And then there's also a lot of shows both in academic riding, western, jumping, dressage, etc. I'm really looking forward to it! I only have to stand at a stall for two hours and then I'm free. I wish I had some money, so I could go shopping. There are many good deals on clothing, equipment and food. But we'll see, maybe I find something affordable :-)

Self carriage?

It might be a funny picture. But purely facts shows it happens way too often. It's seen too often in Denmark, it's so common. I don't understand how you can ever believe that all these "help resources" as they nicely call it, helps the horse to a better shape? It is force! When you are forcing the horse down like that, the muscles gets built wrong because the horse isn't allowed to use it's body properly. And it hurts! I get so disgusted when I see horses that are tight up from their head to their hindquarters. Maybe it's a simple and quick solution. But in the end you get a horse with possible joint problems, improper muscle composition, neck problems and impurity in the pace.

I feel sorry for these horses and not least their riders who feel compelled to use such crap to get their horses to go "nicely in self carriage".

A country's greatness...

"A country's greatness and progress can be judged on how the animals are treated."

That's what I call good service!

Do you remember the product I ordered yesterday? I have received today! When I got home from school, it was in front of my door. That kind of service I like. Now I just have to find time to try it on Victor. I won't use it until I have VERY much time a day. I want to make sure that his hair on his legs gets dry. If he has wet legs and comes out in the muddy field it doesn't help much on his mud fever. It can actually make it worse.
