Video Hungarian Post
Giga and Heaven. It's not me on them. My knee is still quite sore :-/
This is the first time Giga and Heaven tries Hungarian post.
The idea is that they should go together for a show on 19/1-2013. And as it looks now, they may well go good together :-)
Could Giga join the show?
Hello everyone!
Once again, I haven't updated my blog. I can only say it's my illness that keeps me back and everyday stress.
But the latest you heard from me was that Giga was going to Roskilde.
It started a little bad. I went out to the trailer with Giga but I don't think she saw the ramp, because suddenly she fell down with both front legs on the ramp. She laid down on her front legs a pretty long time and then she began sliding slowly down completely to the ground. Fortunately, she came up on her feet again and she was not frightened by the incident. She's just such a cool and calm horse! The rest of the road went really well to Roskilde. She got into a huge box with straw. She was just in the seventh heaven.
The next day we should ride quadrille riding. It went really good. She was praised by all even by my riding instructor. He thought she was the most beautiful Irish Cob he had ever seen. And I rode her just so nicely. I was almost embarrassed by all the praise we got :-)
After training came the decisive, could Giga join the show. She was put together with the Friesian horse, Heaven. In the beginning it didn't go too well. Heaven was not particularly fond of Giga and she threatened to kick her. But it actually ended up really good. As they became more familiar to each other. They just looked beautiful together. My riding instructor was so happy and fond that he offered me free stabling throughout January because he wanted to borrow her for the show! Awesome! I'm really proud of Giga. She's just a sweetheart.

I've had a very exciting day at school
I've had a very exciting day at school today. First we had a vet out in the stable who showed us something about vaccines and rasping of the horse's teeth. It was very exciting and he was really good at explaining things in an interesting way.
Oregon Wild Long-haired Wonder Horses
There were, in the late 1800’s wild horses still roaming Oregon state in the USA, and they were prized for their exceptionally good looks and long manes, hence their being referred to as the ‘Oregon Wild Long-haired Wonder Horses. In early 1870, the first stallion captured, named ‘Oregon Beauty’ was mated with a Clydesdale female called ‘Oregon Queen’ and the first filly born in captivity arrived soon after, welcomed by the owners who were the Rutherford brothers.
Called ‘Linus’ this wondrous horse was taken around fairs, show-grounds and museums for many years, showing off her glorious long mane and general good looks. She was a genuine crowd-puller. Until 1887 she gave pleasure to untold numbers of sightseers, before being tragically killed upon being struck by lightning. Luckily, she had produced a son, also named Linus II, and the tradition was able to continue.
