Eventful day!

Today I have achieved quite much. I have been SO energetic, do not ask me why because I'm pretty sick still. But I started the day with extending the fence to the horses so they could get some grass. Oh, how they stood and waited, as you can see in the picture:

When we opened the gate to the grass was Baltazar and Victor the first ones to run in. On the other side stood Molle and looked, he didn't realize we had opened the fence, it took him 3 min. before he saw it. He's just a small baby, next time he's for sure the first one getting to the grass.

Later I went into the forest along with Baltazar. I "saddle" him up, and fasten him to his little wagon and then we were well on our way to an adventure in the forest. I've completely forgotten how much fun such a ride is. It was great to see how much Balte enjoyed it. He really loves to do something. He is so happy and proud, especially when he has the wagon behind him. We had a good gallop, it was awesome.

Then I went into the forest along with Victor. I miss riding him. It's great that I can ride off into the woods without a saddle without a bit in his mouth and not be afraid that he runs with me. He's so calm and quiet. I can always feel safe on his back. It was a really nice trip. However, we got us a big shock on the way home. A little girl about 8 years old came galloping up on her pony, she did not stop and rode right past us. - And therefore little girls should not ride alone in the woods, they have no sense of responsibility and respect for the dangers they expose themselves and others to. Victor got pretty frightened and wanted to gallop after the pony. So I had to jump off and calm him down. When they were out of sight I jumped up on him again and so we rode quietly home. What an eventful day!

Brushing time

Tonight I brushed Baltazar from "head to hoof". He needed it very much, unfortunately. I feel so guilty that I can't be with my two boys every day. Baltazar enjoyed it fully. That pony is just so good and kind as the day is long!

I trained him a little on the outdoor arena. We played and had a great time. He can just give me a big smile on my lips.

Bittersweet

It's somewhat a bittersweet feeling I'm sitting with right now. It's really nice to see my boy Victor but there's just a huge "setback" in everything regarding behavior, shape, etc. As well as his beautiful hair is long gone. Sucks, should I sell him?

I have thought much of selling him but then I go out and play with him in the paddock and look into his beautiful brown eyes and then I remember how much I struggled to get him and how much I really love him :-(
But it's just not fair that he goes every month and is doing nothing...

Positive news

I have some postive news (maybe), BUT I think I found the blame for Gigas extremely fiery temper. I think it's the food's fault. I found out it contains:

Wheat, barley, molasses, soybean flour, wheat bran, soya beans, corn, salt, ground limestone, vitamins / minerals and herbs.

It may well be there's no oats in the food, but it haves quite a lot of grains in it! It's really not good for a cold blooded horse. So tomorrow I'm going to buy some new food for my girl :-)

Today she's was actually really nice and calm. I traind a LOT on her stop and go signal, she really needs to learn to wait. It was really hot, about 20 degrees +. So it maybe influenced her to be more calm and tired. Who knows :-P?

Impressive!

Look at this picture...

I think this is pretty impressive. I will shoot at the boys are 3-4 years old. Think how sweet and well-trained these horses are. I am sure that virtually all horses have a special respect and feeling for children. I know my own are so calm and friendly to small children.

This year's hottest day

Today was the warmest day in DK. And what am I? SICK! So extreme typical! However, I pulled myself off the bed up to Giga. Admittedly, we did nothing active. But she got her food and a decent "brush over".

At the moment there's not much progress regarding Giga and her "run away number". It is really annoying, but I can only blame myself. I'm considering getting a vet out. Maybe she has some pain in her back? Unfortunately, are the cold-blood horses known to have an extremely high pain threshold. But now we'll see. Next month I should be able to afford my academic saddle :-)

Calm and obedient

The last two days Giga has been very calm and obedient.
Friday: I rode a long trip in the woods with one of my good friends with her Irish Cob. Giga get’s so calm when we ride with that horse. Maybe she thinks it’s Victor or maybe she just likes Irish Cob geldings? We had a really fun trip.

Saturday: I trained a lot of groundwork and a little Spanish steps. People on the outdoor arena looked constantly at us. It’s a ittle awkward. But it's probably because Giga looks so beautiful ;-D
